Join Granite United Way and the New Hampshire Veterans Home for an engaging volunteer opportunity during the 9/11 National Day of Service & Remembrance. Volunteers will help veterans participate in recreational activities, cheer them on, share conversation, and assist recreation staff in creating a fun, welcoming environment where residents can connect with one another and enjoy the day.
Morning Shift (9 am-12 pm): Volunteers will help facilitate mini golf and a basketball shootout, followed by beanbag toss and balloon toss. Volunteers will also assist with transporting veterans to and from the Home's 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony and enjoy the ceremony alongside them.
Afternoon Shift (1:30-3:30 pm): Continue making a difference by assisting recreation staff with additional afternoon activities and helping ensure every veteran has the opportunity to participate and enjoy the programs.
Laughter, friendly competition, and shared experiences can brighten someone's day. By helping veterans participate in recreational activities and spending time alongside them, you'll help create moments of joy, connection, and community while honoring the spirit of the 9/11 National Day of Service & Remembrance.
