Join Granite United Way and the New Hampshire Veterans Home for a meaningful volunteer opportunity during the 9/11 National Day of Service & Remembrance. Volunteers will spend the day connecting with veteran residents through conversation, companionship, and shared acts of service while honoring the spirit of a day dedicated to remembrance, unity, and hope.
Morning Shift (9:30 am-12 pm): Help welcome veterans to a Coffee Social, assist with transportation to and from activities, share conversation with residents, and attend the Home's 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony alongside them before helping escort them back to their neighborhoods.
Afternoon Shift (1:30-4 pm): Continue making a difference by assisting with afternoon recreation programs and helping relocate and refill bird feeders throughout the campus, making it easier for veterans to enjoy birds and other wildlife from the comfort of their windows.
Sometimes the simplest acts of service have the greatest impact. Whether you're sharing a conversation, offering a helping hand, or honoring our nation's heroes during the remembrance ceremony, your time will help create a meaningful experience for the veterans who call the New Hampshire Veterans Home their home.
