Opportunity:Mission Moment for Mental Health Awareness Month

Date:05/15/2026 09:00 AM - 05/15/2026 05:00 PM

Agency:American Foundation for Suicide Prevention

Help spread hope this May in celebration of Mental Health Awareness Month!

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention's (AFSP) New Hampshire Chapter is looking for caring and creative volunteers to help us set up a mental health mission moment in New Hampshire.

Volunteers will set up a resource table and "Hope Wall" at a local coffee shop or mental health organization. You will have the opportunity to connect community members to vital suicide prevention materials, hand out free mental health awareness swag, and create a space where people can share hope with one another. Supporters will be invited to add a post it note to the "Hope Wall" with positive mental health messaging, a joyful drawing, or the name of a loved one who is being honored or remembered.

All materials will be provided by AFSP.

Note: Tabling location(s) to be determined based on the location of interested volunteers.

Opportunity:Suncook Branch Spring Clean and Refresh

Date:05/15/2026 12:00 PM - 05/15/2026 02:00 PM

Agency:Boys and Girls Clubs of Central & Northern New Hampshire

Our Suncook Clubhouse is in need of some TLC as we move to the ends of the school year. This time of year, we greatly appreciate volunteers as we check supplies (no one likes board games with missing pieces!), wipe down lockers, and reset for the new school year. We will have some outdoor tasks as well as indoor tasks in our program areas.

Opportunity:American Pickers....Trash Pickers, That is. The Concord Edition

Date:05/15/2026 09:00 AM - 05/15/2026 01:30 PM

Agency:CATCH Neighborhood Housing

In a perfect world, trash would always make its way to a proper trashcan. But we know that sometimes, the bits of packaging and coffee cups, wrappers and plastic bags, unmentionables and what have you don't make it there. And, for reasons no one can explain, the crosswinds of Concord always seem to take these stray bits and pieces and blow them so they all converge in the woods surrounding two of CATCH's most popular affordable workforce housing developments -- CATCH Three Bedroom Townhouses (Concord) and Willow Crossing (Penacook). The trash takes some very pretty woods and grassy green areas and makes them look significantly less attractive. Nothing is less inspiring that someone else's trash in your natural spaces! Pride in place and space inspires others to have pride in their places and spaces, and we want to kick off this summer season with a fresh "trashless" start at both of these locations. I mean, what's better than you, Mother Nature, friends, a trash bag, and the satisfaction of seeing the before and after of your good work in the space of one day! Can you help us give this CATCH Three Bedroom Townhouses property in Concord a fresh start?

Opportunity:The Doors, The Non-Musical More Paint-Focused Version

Date:05/15/2026 09:00 AM - 05/15/2026 04:00 PM

Agency:CATCH Neighborhood Housing

If a person's eyes are the windows to their soul, then doors must be the windows to the home, right? In CATCH Neighborhood Housing's affordable workforce housing at Willow Crossing in Penacook, we are responsible for these doors to our residents' homes and we could use a little help making sure they look as bright and fresh as possible! Willow Crossing includes four buildings and each building has 4-5 doors. The paint on the exterior doors and door frames of the apartments in this development has started to flake and needs some TLC to bring those "windows to the soul" back to "like new" status. We would ask our volunteers to work in teams of 2 per door, with a couple of folks acting as runners for paint and materials as needed. So, feeling like Picasso? Need to perfect your upper body muscle tone for the beach? This is your project! Pride in place and space inspires others to have pride in their places and spaces, and we want to kick off this summer season with a fresh look. Can you help?

Opportunity:Help Us Clear the Way for Change at CCEH

Date:05/15/2026 09:00 AM - 05/15/2026 02:00 PM

Agency:Concord Coalition to End Homelessness

The Concord Coalition to End Homelessness (CCEH) is inviting volunteers to roll up their sleeves and help us prepare our Resource Center and historic building for the future. Our 100+ year-old building has served the community for decades, and now we need your help to give it the care and attention it deserves.

During this hands-on volunteer project, you'll help us tackle a long-overdue clean-out and refresh that will make our space safer, more organized, and more functional for the people we serve every day.

Volunteers will work alongside CCEH staff to:

Clear out the basement by sorting and removing accumulated items from years of use

Load a dumpster with materials that can no longer be used, helping make space for building maintenance and improved storage

Deep clean areas of the Resource Center so the space remains welcoming and dignified for guests accessing services

Assist with light outdoor work, such as yard cleanup and small property maintenance tasks

No special skills required, just a willingness to help and a readiness to get a little dusty!

Every day, CCEH's Resource Center connects people experiencing homelessness with critical services, support, and a place to feel respected and safe. By helping us clear, clean, and organize our space, volunteers directly contribute to creating a more efficient and welcoming environment for our guests, staff, and volunteers.

Your work will also help prepare the building for needed maintenance and improvements that allow us to continue serving the Concord Community.

You can expect:

A meaningful team-based volunteer experience

The satisfaction of seeing visible results by the end of the project

The chance to support a mission-driven organization working to end homelessness

A little hard work, a lot of teamwork, and plenty of gratitude from the CCEH staff!

Whether you're an individual looking to give back or a group that enjoys hands-on service projects, this is a great opportunity to make a tangible difference in just a few hours.

Join us and help clear the way for a stronger, more welcoming Resource Center.
