Opportunity:

Revive a Healing Garden at our Transitional Housing Site in Durham, NH

Description

Community Partners owns a Transitional Residential Treatment program off of Route 4 in Durham.  On the property is a fenced garden that historically has been used by residents and individuals with developmental disabilities in our Community Participation Services programs. After a couple of years without a staff champion for this project the fence and garden beds are in disrepair.  The team now would like to revive and return the garden to a place of outdoor enjoyment and personal accomplishment for the individuals we serve. The produce will be incorporated into the cooking classes that the individuals we support participate in.  Please join us to create a wonderful three season outdoor experience for people with developmental disabilities.

Together with our maintenance team, volunteers would assist with:

  • Removing over-growth such as weeds and small trees

  • turning and preparing the soil

  • spreading woodchips

  • repairing raised beds

  • repairing the fence
