Invasive plant species removal

Description

A fun and productive activity outdoors to rid areas of Oriental Bittersweet and other invasive plants. Volunteers often feel great satisfaction when pulling out long roots and large masses of weeds. It can be dirty and physically challenging, but that adds to the sense of accomplishment. Groups and individuals are welcome.

Volunteer Should Provide
Volunteers should dress to be outdoors in fields and wooded areas off-trail. They will need work gloves and a refillable water bottle, and may bring insect repellent, sunscreen, a hat, and other protective gear. Long pants and sturdy shoes are recommended. Dress to be as tick-proof as possible.
Agency Will Provide
 The Science Center will provide tools, including garden lopers, clippers, and a weed-puller. Light snacks and coffee/tea/tap water will be provided.
