Invasive plant species removal

Description

A Granite United Way Day of Caring Opportunity! Volunteers are invited to Squam Lakes Natural Science Center for a three-hour session of removing invasive plant species. Species include Oriental Bittersweet, Honeysuckle, Barberry, and others. Toxic plants, such as poison ivy, are not included.

Volunteer Should Provide
Volunteers arrive dressed to be outdoors with sturdy footwear and clothes that can get dirty. Volunteers are asked to bring refillable water bottles, work gloves, and protective gear, such as hats, sunglasses, sunblock, and insect repellent. Volunteers may provide their own lunch. The Science Center will have beverages and snacks available. The Science Center will provide basic tools.
