Opportunity:

LHMS Photo Archiving

Description

The Laconia Historical & Museum Society (LHMS) needs help to preserve an important piece of our community’s visual history. This project focuses on the Bob St. Louis photograph collection—a unique set of images capturing people, places, and moments that help tell Laconia’s story.

Volunteers will work alongside our team to review each photograph, verify details when possible, and catalog the information. This may include noting locations, dates, subjects, and any known historical context.

This is a hands-on opportunity to engage directly with local history: no experience necessary, just a passion for preserving the past. Your contribution will make a meaningful impact.

What you’ll do:

  • Review and sort photographs from the Bob St. Louis collection

  • Help identify people, places, and events depicted in images

  • Record and organize information for archival records

  • Assist with labeling and maintaining proper storage of materials

Training and guidance will be provided. Flexible scheduling is available.

Help us ensure that Laconia’s story is preserved, one photograph at a time.
