Opportunity:

Island Spring Clean Up for Camp

Description

Join the Mayhew Program as we clean up Mayhew Island to get ready for the boys to arrive at camp.  Mayhew challenges and helps at-risk New Hampshire boys to believe in themselves, work well with others, and find their best.  It is the only all-boys program in the state that combines school-year mentoring and a residential summer program for at-risk boys, tuition-free, through high school graduation.

Volunteer Should Provide
Please plan to arrive at the Mayhew Base House by 9 AM. We'll gather our group and go over any work plans or instructions before getting the day started. Wear sturdy shoes and clothes you don?t mind getting dirty - and don't forget layers as it can be chilly on the water. All tools for the day will be provided, but please bring your own work gloves. We'll have snacks and water available to keep us going throughout the morning (we recommend bringing a water bottle for refills to stay hydrated). As a reminder, work may include raking and removing debris, moving materials, building maintenance, cleaning, painting, and more. Most work will be physical and may include heavy lifting.
