Day of Caring North Country
Day of Caring Volunteers may help with a variety of late season gardening tasks. Harvesting, produce storage and garden clean-up are some activities that may need to be done. The actual list of activities will depend upon the needs at the time. All of this work supports the goal of the Mount Sacred Heart Garden Project to provide fresh vegetables to those experiencing food insecurity in area communities. MSH Garden typically produces over 6000 pounds of vegetables each year, grown using organic gardening techniques. This food is distributed to the convent, 4 local food pantries and 2 community meals. The project is volunteer led and staffed.
