Opportunity:Day of Caring Project Team

Date:09/20/2024 09:00 AM - 09/20/2024 04:00 PM

Agency:Back in the Saddle Equine Therapy Center

BITS ETC is looking for volunteers to join us on September 20th for the Day of Caring. We have several projects around the barn that have not been able to be completed as lesson and barn volunteers stay busy with lessons and horse care here on the farm. We will likely need help with facility maintenance, set-up for our upcoming student horse show, and other projects which are easier with the help of a team.

Volunteer hours are flexible. Half day: 9am-12pm or 1pm-4pm | Full day: 9am-4pm

Opportunity:Lesson Assistant Volunteer

Date:09/09/2024 09:00 AM - 12/09/2024 05:00 PM

Agency:Back in the Saddle Equine Therapy Center

Lesson Assistant Volunteers are typically seen in the barn and arena helping with our lesson horses and students. Volunteers will work alongside students as they learn to brush and tack horse, or will prepare horses prior to lessons. Then, volunteers join students in the riding arena as needed to assist our BITS lesson instructors. We need reliable volunteers to ensure each of our kiddos' lessons are a success! Training is provided, but horse experience is always a plus!

This is an ongoing need. Most volunteers commit about three hours each week at the barn, coming on the same day/time each week. (For example, every Thursday from 2-5pm) Scheduling is flexible! We always have a need for a few more helping hands.

Opportunity:Barn Chores Volunteer

Date:06/27/2024 08:00 AM - 09/30/2024 06:30 PM

Agency:Back in the Saddle Equine Therapy Center

We are actively searching for volunteers to join our wonderful crew! From our barn chore volunteers, we need help measuring grain, feeding hay, turning out horses, scooping stalls, and other necessary tasks in keeping our herd of therapy horses (and donkey!) cared for.

This position would ask volunteers to commit about three hours each week to help us achieve our mission.
