Camp Allen is a non-profit summer camp for children and adults with special physical and developmental needs. Established in Boston, Massachusetts, by the Boston Kiwanis and Manchester Lions, the camp is located in Bedford, New Hampshire. Camp Allen is a non profit 501(c)3. Camp Allen provides opportunities for growth, friendship and fun for children and adults with cognitive and/or physical challenges in an outdoor environment and is unique in that the camper to staff ratio is a 2:1 with 1:1 available for those with medical and/or behavioral challenges that require an increased level of supervision. Every year it is a massive effort to open and close the camp. The Day of Caring has been instrumental in helping us make sure Camp Allen is properly closed up for the winter. The types of jobs will be landscaping, moving furniture, taking down seasonal play areas, painting, cleaning cabins, etc. We provide support to help complete the tasks as well as lunch!
